Landscape
The trees of the garden
stand slight air of evening
as if they were painted
over a fine silk;
the bell 'gray bird swings
on the branch of a peach flower
is careful not to disturb the silence
even one with a cry alone;
everything is in sleep,
and the moon specchianell'acqua Lake
is as slender boat
in the middle of a meadow lit up in gold.
Tristan Klingsor
Schéhérazade, 1903
